Activities
The Activity staff plans and leads daily activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, community, spiritual and social needs of the residents. We provide a wide range of activities for both large and small groups. The staff provides individualized programming for special populations and interests. All programming is conducted in an atmosphere of warmth, success, encouragement and joy. Each resident is provided a weekly, large print activity schedule and is encouraged to participate in those activities of interest. The Heritage Center Activity Department creates opportunities for our residents to give as well as receive care by promoting our Elder's participation in the daily round of activities. Many activities are offered that give our elder's a sense of self-worth and meaning. Some of these activities include gardening, baking, folding towels, peeling potatoes and assisting with pet cares. Children have become part of daily life at Heritage. The children create an environment in which unexpected and unpredictable interactions and happenings can take place. We have developed and continue to develop inter-generational programs, which includes involvement with the junior high and elementary school students, home school associations, and many local church youth groups.
