Volunteering

Opportunities abound for volunteering at Bethesda. Volunteering one’s time to spend with nursing homes residents, tenants, or Adult Day Services clients can be a genuinely rewarding way to give and to learn. The volunteers are given many options of how they can help.

The areas in which help is needed, includes, but is not limited to:

  • Read to visually impaired individuals
  • Assistance in working with the birds in the aviary
  • Sing or play instruments for programs
  • Teach residents and Adult Day Services clients how to use the computer
  • Play cards and games
  • Accompany residents to medical appointments
  • Provide creativity and assistance with room projects
  • Go for walks outside when weather permits
  • Provide encouragement and visiting

The quality of life for the residents of Bethesda is our main focus. We encourage our volunteers to demonstrate professionalism and compassion when performing duties. Young or old, volunteers can make a difference in the lives of the residents at Bethesda.
