Handicapped accessible (with lift) van which
transports residents to medical, dental, and chiropractic appointments
at no cost to the resident or their family. The
driver is specially trained, assists residents with the check-in process, and
transports
them to their doctor’s office waiting area.
Chapel Inn, a unique dining
experience, is offered on a monthly basis. The
Activity Room is transformed into a “fine dining experience” complete
with linens, special
dishes, stemware, silverware and menus. Candle light and a volunteer pianist
who
provides dinner music add to the ambiance. Volunteers serve as waiters, and
four
randomly chosen residents invite four family members or friends to join in
the event.
The Svea Co-op Gift Shop is conveniently located
in the lobby area and offers greeting
cards, books, and unique gifts.
An on-site HeadStart class of 18 three and
four-year olds operates four days per week,
and provides a multitude of intergenerational opportunities.
An on-site enclosed
playground is designed to accommodate wheelchairs to promote
additional outdoor
activities.
Computers, with Internet access, are available
for resident use in the Activity Room.
Beautiful courtyards, enclosed patio areas and
raised flower gardens provide
enjoyment in the outdoors.
